The Governor Wentworth Arts Council (GWAC), a nonprofit organization that promotes arts initiatives in New Hampshire's Lake Region, required a clean, visually pleasing web presence to spread the word about its community efforts. Since they wanted to maintain the site in-house, they chose to implement Wordpress as a content management system (CMS).

The site – located at www.wolfeboroarts.org – contains information about GWAC's exhibits, events, education initiatives and its members. Thanks to Wordpress's user-friendly interface, GWAC's members can add, remove and modify content in a matter of minutes rather than relying on a third-party agency. Wordpress is an open-source system with a massive development community. It lacks the costly licensing fees that proprietary solutions carry.

GWAC is a volunteer-driven organization that typically meets once per month. The events GWAC holds include Artists in the Park, Paint the Town, Just Desserts, First Night Wolfeboro and monthly exhibits at the Wolfeboro Public Library. Members, who pay just $20 in dues annually, receive quarterly newsletters, monthly email updates, event notifications and the opportunity to participate in area exhibits.
