Top 5 Best Press Release Submission Sites for 2011

Author // Mike Kalil

Reaching out to the media is a cost-effective way to spread the word about your enterprise. There are lots of paid and free press release distribution sites where you can submit your news, but most of them are fly-by-night services that aren't worth your time.

Here's a list of the best press release submission sites. If you have any recommendations, let us know in the comment section!

Pricing starts at $80 per news release. PRWeb is one of the major players in press release distribution and is used by many journalists and bloggers. Premium packages are $360.

This one's pretty expensive, but worth it if you have the extra cash to spare. It's especially helpful if you want to reach an international audience.

This Germany-based site is free, but the editors are picky about what they publish. That's a good thing. If your release is a blatant advertisement, don't expect it to make it through the gatekeepers.

A relatively new site that has free and premium submission packages. Turnaround for publishing approval is usually just a few hours.

Another newer site, this service allows for free submissions and approves releases quickly.

Remember, a press release that's about nothing significant will do you little good. If you really want your news to catch on, you should also manually contact reporters and bloggers who might be interested in reporting it.

There are many things you can do to increase the odds of your news release piquing the interest of journalists and relevant bloggers. Check out the blog post I wrote about the topic for SEOMoz.org. It's a few years old, but it still holds true today.

I’m having trouble getting my asbestos websites news approved by some of the press release sites.
Its just that i don’t think we have anything newsworthy to talk about.

What do you guys think should another medium of SEO would be more appropriate?

You're probably not focusing on what's newsworthy about your business. Here's a post I wrote about this subject a while back that's still relevant: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/tip...t-help-seo
