LACONIA, N.H., March 3, 2010 – The Laconia Motorcycle Week has launched a new Web site designed by Danconia Media that will act as a promotional and informational hub for the event, which attracts tourists from throughout the United States and Canada.

laconia nh web designThe site – located at www.laconiamcweek.com – features a schedule of events, photo galleries, rally news, a memorabilia store section and information about the event's sponsors and patrons. Using the site, visitors can find lodging information and even book hotel and motel reservations in advance. As part of the package, Danconia provided custom graphic design, Web development, basic search engine optimization and social media integration.

“When choosing to redesign our site, it was important to find a company that had a local feel with big city ideas and experience; that's what we got with Danconia,” Jennifer Anderson, director of the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association, said. “They exceeded our expectations in being able to understand our global concept and synthesize both design and functionality to create a great site.”

Danconia's team started designing the site early in the year to get it up and running well in advance of the event, which is in its 87th year. The site was designed using a highly user friendly content management system (CMS) that the rally's organizers can use to add, modify and remove content. The organizers will receive CMS training as part of the Web design package.

Jonathan Simoni, Danconia's project manager, said he jumped at the opportunity of getting to help spread the word about the historic event. The design and development process, he said, went smoothly thanks to the rally association being so organized.

“The Laconia Motorcycle Week Association was an absolute pleasure to work with,” Simoni said. “We're more than happy to help promote this important event that brings much-needed tourism dollars to the Lakes Region and the Granite State.”

The rally will be held from June 12 to June 20. Information about the rally's attractions, schedule, vendors, sponsors and advertising opportunities can already be found on the redesigned Web site.

The site will be equipped with a highly user-friendly content management system (CMS) that will make it easy for the organization to maintain it in-house.

WINCHENDON, Mass., Feb. 1, 2009 – Saloom Furniture Company, a manufacturer of premium contemporary, country and transitional dining furniture, has launched a completely overhauled Web site and rebranding to match the quality and style of its products.

The site – located at www.saloom.com – was designed by New Hampshire-based Danconia Media using a highly user-friendly content management system (CMS) that Saloom plans to use to maintain it in-house. It features a robust cataloging system that allows staffers to add, remove and modify products and categories with minimal training.

The enhanced Internet presence allows Saloom to more effectively market its dining tables, chairs, bar tables, counter tables and case pieces to potential customers and vendors online. Using the site, visitors can easily find samples of Saloom's wide variety of furniture styles and find an authorized dealer in their areas. Danconia also produced hundreds of pages of content crafted to rank highly on major search engines like Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

“We've always felt that we had a powerful story to tell – of high quality, American-made, custom-order dining furniture – but our Web site was 10 years old, built in-house, and didn't give us the visibility on the Internet that we needed,” Becki Gould, Saloom's marketing director, said. “We felt that, if consumers discovered our products, we could sell them on the quality craftsmanship and design, and direct them to the retail store, which would ultimately lead to increased sales.”

She added: “We hired Danconia Media for our redesign because we felt they had a proven track record of success at good Web site design and a special strength in search engine optimization that was critical to this project.”

As part of the package, Saloom also received a redesigned logo and high-end business cards to match its new branding. During the design process, Danconia made sure to produce collateral that would appeal to Saloom's varying target consumers, whose tastes range from rustic to modern to anywhere in between.

“We enjoyed the challenge of bringing together Saloom's varied style offerings into one branding package,” William Sweeney, Danconia's vice president, said. “We're confident that our solution will ultimately lead to increased revenues for Saloom.”

Saloom, based in Winchendon, was founded in 1982 by Peter and Linda Saloom. Originally run out of a basement, the company now has two factories with 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space and products distributed throughout the United States and Canada. The company has four main product lines: Saloom New England, New Castle, City Scapes and Gardner Contemporary.

SALEM, N.H., Nov. 19, 2009 – Danconia Media has received this year's Salem Animal Rescue League Community Service Award for donating a new Web site that the nonprofit uses to reach out to its supporters and to find homes for abandoned dogs and cats in southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.

SARL presented Danconia the award during its annual Kimball Family Farm Autumn Brunch event held Sunday. In its recognition, SARL praised Danconia for developing an online tool that has made it easier for the animal rescue league to communicate with volunteers and supporters, raise money for its planned relocation and building project, and find homes for abandoned pets.

About 60 guests attended the event, which was held at the home of Tim and Valorie Hayes, a SARL board member, in North Andover, Mass. Before SARL's awards were handed out, attendees watched an hour-long presentation by Vickie Constantine Croke, an author, journalist and host of “The Secret Life of Animals” on NECN. Guests were also updated on SARL's Capital Giving Campaign and building project.

“The most outstanding feature of the day was our fundraising effort that resulted in $87,000 in proceeds for our Capital Giving Campaign and general fund,” said Ray Denis, SARL's director of development.

SARL launched its new site – located at www.sarl-nh.org – in October. The site features a highly user-friendly content management system that allows SARL members to add and modify content within moments, a pet management system that makes adding new animals available for adoption to its database simple, and a robust CRM application that allows the organization manage donations, volunteers and events from a single interface.

“They captured exactly what we were looking for in a very user-friendly Web site,” SARL President Lori Bertrand said shortly after the site's launching. “I am delighted with the outcome of this project, as it will be used by our volunteers, staff, donors and adopters to advance our shelter's operations and save many more lives of companion animals.”st

The site was donated as part of Danconia's Web design grant program specifically for New Hampshire nonprofits and charities. The program is intended for in-state organizations, but out-of-state applicants will be considered if they provide significant services for Granite State residents. For more information or to fill out an online application form, visit the program's Web site at www.nhwebdesign.org.
